Photos that did not make it into the guide

When putting this book together, I went to Sutherland and to Holland to take photographs. Necessarily, many photographs did not make the final cut of the book. Here, to give you a wider picture, are a few more with some context.

Castle Varrich Castle Varrich sits on a mound above the Kyle of Tongue. Its views from the top are unparalleled. Presumably this commanding position was helpful for spotting incoming attackers. The graveyard at Balnakeil In this graveyard, which is next to one of the old Mackay houses Balnakeil, is buried Rob Donn Mackay, the famous Gaelic bard of the clan	Mackay vault at Ophemert Outside of the village of Ophemert, in open country, is the graveyard of the Mackays. The vault is underground, covered in ivy, charming. The 10th Lord Reay is among the five bodies buried there. Angela Mackay and Bear Angela Mackay is a well-known figure in the Tongue area. She was an intrepid helper in the creation of this book.	Some of Zuzana Marekova's early illustrations Zuzana is a lovely illustrator. She was born in Slovakia and a lot of her work is based around Slovakian folk art. She created the M motif that occurs in the book.	Olivia in tartan scarf - one of our intrepid contributors Olivia was very helpful too
